Laser Hair Removal -- Modern Aesthetics of Spring Hill

Hair removal can be a continuous process. Things like shaving, waxing, threading, and sugaring, all require regular attention, are time-consuming, and can cause annoying stubble, razor burn, ingrown hairs, and skin irritation. Thankfully, for Modern Aesthetics clients, there is an alternative. We use the Cheveux Laser, which is a fast and safe option for hair removal.

We can treat any area of unwanted hair, from small areas like the upper lip, underarm, or bikini lines, as well as larger areas such as legs, back, or chest. Because hair growth comes in cycles, several treatments are required to permanently rid your body of unwanted hair with laser hair removal.

The Cheveux Laser operates at an 810nm wavelength, making it safe for all skin and hair follicle types. With traditional laser hair removal procedures, clients have reported feeling snapping sensations similar to being snapped by a rubber band. Overall, laser hair removal reportedly hurts less than waxing. The treatments using the Cheveux Laser are even more comfortable than traditional laser hair removal procedures due to the built-in cooling system.

The number of treatments you will need to remove hair will vary. It will depend on the area that is being treated, as well as how dark your hair follicles are. Laser hair removal tends to work more effectively on dark-colored hair, but the Cheveux Laser has been proven effective on all skin and hair types.

Our professionally trained laser hair removal specialists will space your treatments at optimal intervals so that we can achieve the best results. Typically, this process can take up to six months, but many of our clients often report seeing results after the first treatment.

During the laser hair removal process, our Cheveux Laser emits a light that travels through the skin and is absorbed by the pigment in your hair. This damages the hair follicle that the hair grows from and creates delays in future hair growth. It can take approximately two weeks for your hair to begin falling out. When it grows back, it will grow back in finer and sparser than previous growth. Some of the things that you can do to assist the process along can include shaving before your appointment and then exfoliating afterward.

There are a few things that could have a negative effect on your procedure. Please avoid these items below when making your appointment:

  • Alcohol. Say no to drinks the night before your appointment. If you’re even a little bit hung-over, you can expect to feel more pain -- just like in the rest of your life!
  • Make sure you’re not taking antibiotics. Do not schedule your appointment when you’re on a course of antibiotics. Antibiotics can be photosensitive medications and can make your skin more sensitive to light. The laser hair removal procedure is conducted using light, so being on any antibiotics can cause hyperpigmentation or even burns.
  • Avoid indoor tanning or sun exposure. If the area in which you’re getting laser hair removal done has sun or tanning exposure, it can make a big difference to your results as well.
