Did you know that we can remove stubborn areas of fat and tighten skin with only one treatment? Laser Lipolysis is a minimally-invasive procedure that dissolves localized fat and tightens skin at the same time.
In our office, we use a 1470nm laser. This is the best laser for “melting” fat, while preserving surrounding tissue. When comparing laser lipolysis to traditional liposuction, you will typically find that there is less bleeding, bruising and swelling and that the recovery time is faster with laser lipolysis. In addition, you will have the benefit of skin tightening with laser lipolysis.
Typically, only one laser lipolysis treatment is needed. There is a small amount of downtime. You will need to rest on the day following the treatment and then only participate in light activities for a few days after.
Laser Lipolysis uses laser energy delivered through an applicator. The fat cells are preferentially heated and disrupted without impacting other types of cells in the skin or or other structures. This non-surgical fat-reduction is a minimally invasive procedure.
Reasons patients want laser lipolysis
-Patients who wish to a localized fat bulge of the abdomen and flanks.
Who is not a candidate?
- Patients with loose skin or fat inside the abdomen, deep to the muscles.
What does Laser Lipolysis do?
- The goal of laser Lipolysis is to reduce the volume of fat in a fatty bulge.
Laser Lipolysis Procedure
- After an assessment of the dimensions and shape of the abdominal or flank fatty bulge to be treated, the area is marked to identify the site for applicator placement. The applicator is applied, and the patient feels a cooling sensation. During the 25-minute treatment, the patient may feel warmth and/or tingling. There are no activity restrictions or downtime. Patients sometimes feel tender, redness, and swelling. Results may be visible and are apparent by 3 months.
